Always Be Open

After quite a few requests from clients, which really floored me, I am getting back into writing my blogs again. They really did bring me so much joy and carried me through what were some pretty crazy times. So here I am!!
I am in full swing here at Home Skincare and Wellness seeing guests in my practice. I love this term instead of saying “clients”- especially because they are truly guests in my Home! I am also surrounded by some incredibly talented humans and the gifts that they are sharing at Home, as well. We now have yoga, reiki, massage, acupuncture, nutrition, and soundbath- all under one roof!! It’s pretty magical, if you ask me. It is exactly what I had envisioned for this space and to see it come alive is nothing short of awesome.
I did a training a few weeks ago through one of the lines that I carry, Botnia Skincare, and it was, as usual, so enlightening and inspiring. This is the second annual workshop that I have “attended” (via zoom since they are in CA) and they offer a wide range of workshops in the two days for all of their accounts. Everything from intentional space design, to diagnosing and treating acne, to financial planning and everything in between. This year they even included some brain breaks with floral design and watercolor painting!
I can say with complete certainty that in the 17 years I have been practicing, I have never come across a group of people that are so supportive and encouraging. The owner of the company, Justine, is like no other. She offers every opportunity to grow and succeed in our profession- not just using her products. She gets it. She knows most of us are practitioners, bookkeepers, front desk managers, in charge of purchasing and entrepreneurs- all wrapped up into one person! We wear sooooo many hats!!
The big message that I took away from the training is this-
BE OPEN.

Be Open- to change
Be Open- to new opportunity
Be Open- to growth, both financially and personally
Be Open- to learning something new
Be Open- to resting your body
Be Open- to caring for yourself- whatever that means to you
Be Open- to accepting support and help
(even when you want to do it alllll yourself)
Be Open- to being more intentional with your words.
Your words are so powerful. Use them wisely.

And of course, I had to find a quote to go along with all of this:
“A mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work if it is not open.”
― Frank Zappa
As always, thank you for reading.
With Gratitude-
