Thank you for giving me time to soak up my last days of summer last week. It still feels so surreal that we just wrapped up Labor Day weekend and now are moving on to the start of a new school year and getting closer to the official start of fall. In our house, the rituals of back to school shopping and gearing up for the big day have been very different, to say the least. I realize now that not having those simple things to “check off our list” has made it feel like the transition to fall really hasn’t happened.
In times when life was simpler and slower, there were rituals that marked a variety of changes, big and small, because we, as humans, understood the value of intentionally pausing to reflect on the changes occurring. In the hustle and bustle of current times, we need rituals, more than ever, to navigate through these changes.
Taking the time to reflect on the experiences summer provided us and what we learned from it, allows us to enter the next phase of the year with more awareness and focus. These rituals can be as small as pulling out a few pairs of boots and some fall clothing or changing over your garden to cool weather veggies or flowers.
Or maybe it’s grabbing that pumpkin spiced flavored/scented anything that makes you immediately feel like you are making the transition to fall! Whatever it is that you need to do to pause, recognize that there is a shift, and then move forward, to help ease yourself into this next phase of the year. I know that I need this, now more than ever, because some days, around our house, it feels an awful lot like groundhog’s day-everyday!
Refine mud cleanser is finally back!!! I will have it on my virtual shelves by the end of next week, but you can pre-order yours now. This product has been a client favorite and just needed a bit of tweaking to make it that much better!
If you have no idea what product I am talking about, let me elaborate. This clay based cleanser gently exfoliates your skin with bentonite clay and rose petals while nourishing it with a blend of sunflower, grapeseed, castor and olive oils. Ylang Ylang is added to help balance the natural oil production of your skin.
This product can be used daily, for skin types that need that deeper cleanse, or for most skin types, it can be used once or twice a week to gently exfoliate. You can also leave it on your skin for 5-10 min as a mask, before rinsing, so it has multiple uses. Overall, this is a fantastic product to have in your arsenal at home.
Today’s quote is focused on change and really struck a chord with me, since my “baby” started kindergarten this week.
“Embrace the seasons and cycles of your life. There is magic in change.”
As always, thank you for reading.
