How is Summer Almost Over Already?

Summer is almost over

Happy Wednesday!!

Holy smokes- summer is almost over. I have no idea what happened over the past two and half months. I am pretty sure I blacked out or someone else took over my body for bit because I can't even remember what I did. Either way, here we are at the start of the school year for my kiddos and navigating what this Fall will look like for myself and my business.

I hope you have all enjoyed your summer though- whatever that means to you. Aside from the trip I took up north (check out my Insta page to get that summary), I have been home, spending time with family, watching other people's children for them and enjoying all of the new animal additions we now have. We added six chickens to our backyard that have just started laying eggs this summer and we now have a guinea pig that was my ten year old's birthday gift in April. Her name is Brown Sugar and the chickens- well their names have changed a few times since they were babies and I honestly can't keep track of them at this point. I do know we have a Goldie and a Bear. Otherwise, I am lost!! So with the six chickens, one guinea pig, one dog and a fish, we have quite the menagerie!

I have completely neglected my social media pages, my website and my blog entries this summer. I can't say that I am sorry for it though. I wasn't in the right head space, was not able to make the time for it and as far as blog posts go, I wasn't even sure what to write about! Now that my kids are back in school though, I am turning my focus back to all things work related.

My business, as far as opening a new space, is still in limbo. I was under contract on two different buildings and they both fell through for lots of reasons that I won't get into. However, I am still moving forward and the search continues. With COVID taking the crazy turn that it has, I am a bit uneasy about getting locked into something when in the back of my head, I am worried about schools going to hybrid or fully virtual, but I know it's a risk I have to take.

On the bright side, I am thoroughly enjoying working with the new professional skincare line, Botnia Skincare,  that I brought in a few months ago. It literally is food for the skin and mixing and matching all of the ingredients has breathed some new life into doing facials again for me. I am still working on finishing my Gua Sha certification through the Green Beauty Academy, as well.

So that's my update, for now. Thank you to all of you that have reached out to check on me in my absence. It means so much to me!!

Until next time- here is a quote about being patient- something I have needed lots of lately.

"When things don't happen right away, just remember it takes 6 months to build a Rolls-Royce and 13 hours to build a Toyota."

Just a side note though- I drove a Toyota Venza for 8 years and loved it! You get the point though :)

As always, thank you for reading.
With Gratitude-
Rachel
