Take Aging Into Your Own Hands

Take Aging into Your Own Hands

Happy Wednesday!

Summer is officially here and I hope that you all are enjoying these longer, warmer days. I wanted to do some digging to see what the summer solstice meant, other that the first day of summer. Marking the day that the sun is at its highest point in the sky for the year, it is one of the earliest astronomical observations in human history and has been celebrated since ancient times. I also learned that in Latin, solstice means “sun standing still,” referring to the sun’s place in the galaxy on that day specifically.

RFE Product Highlight

I have received fantastic feedback since the launch of RFE’s Facial Bar Cleansers - Radiant and Purify. We have come a long way since the days of bar soaps stripping your skin of all of its goodness. With the base of them being olive and coconut oils, your skin feels refreshed and clean- not tight and dry.

Purify has activated charcoal and mustard seed oil to remove toxins and remove buildup on the skin. This cleansing bar is ideal for oil/combo/acne-prone skin types to use daily and all other skin types can use this to alternate with their daily cleanser- a few times a week. This bar is also fantastic to use on the chest and back, if you are dealing with breakout in those areas.

Radiant has pineapple, turmeric and cocoa butter to help to hydrate, reduce inflammation and promote a more even complexion. This bar is fabulous for dry/dehydrated skin types to use daily or combo skin types to alternate their daily cleanser with. This bar is fabulous to cleanse your neck and décolleté with, since those are areas that tend to should sun damage earlier than other parts of the body.

These two facial bar cleansers are such a simple and affordable way to “clean up” your home care regimen and they feel and smell fabulous!

Aging is a Privilege

This is not meant to sway or convince anyone to change their thoughts on how to treat their skin and body over time. I am just sharing my thoughts on the matter.

After losing my father to pancreatic cancer when I was 16 and he was 48, I learned very, very early that aging is truly a privilege. Celebrating milestones, whether it’s yearly or every decade, are so important. It is your life that you are celebrating- your existence on this earth and all that comes with that. To me it’s always a reason to stop, reflect and party!!

With aging, comes changes- yes this I know. I will be turning 43 next month and I am seeing those changes. What a gift that I am able to though, right? I am healthy, strong and alive. So what if my thighs don’t look the same as they did when I was 20 or if my daughter insists on pointing out my crow’s feet?! Those thighs have carried me miles and miles through this life. Those crow’s feet are from lots of laughs, cries, and everything in between.

Can we all just embrace it? Make healthy choices, move your body, love the people around you and allow yourself to be loved. Be present, wash your face, put on those lovely creams and serums, but let’s just all agree that we are beautiful just the way we are- year after year. Take care of yourself because it will make you feel good- not because you are trying so hard to turn back the hands of time or don’t want to accept and love the body and skin you have now.

I found this quote by Sophia Loren that is so fitting for the topic. She says,

“There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of the people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age.”

As always, thank you for you reading.

With so much gratitude,
Rachel
