This Is Not A Test

This Is Not A Test

Happy Wednesday!

I hope that you are all embracing the heat of the summer that we are in the midst of, at least here in Maryland. I always get a bit nostalgic this time of year. I think back to long, hot, sweaty days of riding my bicycle all over the neighborhood, spending way too much time out in the sun, drinking root beer floats from the ice cream shop and loving every second of having freedom and all the time in the world. What are some of your favorite childhood memories of summertime?

RFE Products

Speaking of spending too much time out in the sun, this week I want to highlight Solara Suncare’s product re-release, which is the SPF line that I carry on my website. The founder of this company, Stephanie DiPisa, has worked her tail off since the launch of her products last fall. She has taken the feedback she received and made the products even better- during one of the toughest times in history- and still managed to come out of the other side with what I see as one of the best natural, clean, and effective sunscreens I have ever used.

The newest addition to what I carry is Time Traveler Ageless Daily Face Sunscreen. This product is EWG certified (Environmental Working Group - ewg.org). Time Traveler repairs past sun/photo damage while working to prevent future damage from the sun, plus digital and environmental aggressors. This miraculous product also plumps fine lines and can be used on its own or layered under makeup. It will not pill or leave a white cast!! I have no idea how she did this, but she did!!

Solara’s Clean Freak Nutrient Boosted Daily Sunscreen (Naturally Scented) has also been reformulated and is now in a 3oz bottle. This product can be used on the face and body. Clean Freak nourishes and protects the skin with its full spectrum defense from the sun/blue light and environmental pollutants. It can be used on both children and adults!

This Is Not a Test

I am not sure if any of you reading this remember the times when the “this is a test...this is only a test” would be broadcasted over your TV in the middle of a show, as part of the Emergency Broadcasting System. It would interrupt whatever important part you were watching and you would be highly annoyed because, of course, there was no OnDemand to rewind what you missed.

This is sort of how I feel that COVID is to our lives right now- except it’s not just a test- it’s the real thing. It has interrupted all of our favorite things and we can’t rewind time to do them all over again. We are all frustrated and angry. My daughter recently said that “if COVID was a person, I would want to punch it in the face.” That might be a bit aggressive, but I think we can all relate to this sentiment!!

However, I do feel like, at least for myself and my family, it has put our “show on pause” for a reason. Forcing us to slow down, appreciate, try new things, have more quality time, and realize that no matter how much planning we do, life has a way of pushing us in another direction, whether we want to or not.

So this is your test- like it or not. It’s not graded or pass/fail. It’s just something to learn from. It’s one for the history books though- that’s for sure!

Today’s quote is...

“Every test in our life makes us bitter or better, every problem comes to make us or break us. The choice is ours, whether we become victims or victorious......Which are you? A victim or victor?”
- Lorenzo Dozier

As always, thank you for reading.

With so much gratitude,
Rachel
